BLUE WATER
| Miño river is the most important and representative river in Galicia. It runs through a big part of the Galician geography: it flows from the Meira mountains in the middle of Lugo province and after passing by the outskirts of the city, turns towards Southeast, running through the Northeast of the province of Ourense; before getting to Ourense, it receives the waters of Sil river, which borders between the provinces of Lugo and Ourense. Miño river follows its course towards the ocean through Pontevedra lands where the river turns into a boundary between Spain and Portugal. |

They
are mussels and other molluscs farms that consist of platforms anchored
in the sea, from them some ropes hang and there some molluscs are bred. Mussel farming follows a process that has several phases. Firstly, baby animals are taken from the rocks on the coast or in the ropes of the same platform. Then, the following step is to tie them to a limited number of ropes, which normally go beyond one third of the total production in the platform. After this, when the bivalves grow, they need to split them in two for them to have more room; some months later, they have achieved the commercial size and they are ready for their commercialisation. |
