COMENIUS PROJECT

 IES “María Soliño” school in Cangas has been working in Comenius Project since March 1998 in association with the other three European countries such as Portugal, Germany and Finland. 

The title of the project which make a link among us is Living by the Sea in Europe. The main topic is then THE SEA, and that is why the four schools are located at the European seaside: 

            VANTAA, closed to Helsinki – Finland 

            WILHEMSHAVEN, on the Northern German coast – Germany 

            LEÇA DE PALMEIRA, next to Porto – Portugal 

            CANGAS, on the Southern Galician coast – Spain 

The marine theme is focused on several subjects such as History, Literature, Geography, Biology, Languages and so on. PHOTOS, VIDEO, MUSIC, THEATRE are forms of communication between us.

 The aim is to spread to other countries our HISTORY, LITERATURE or POETRY, COSTUM and TRADITION, but everything linked up with the sea

 We work on FOLCLORE AND POPULAR TRADITION theme from August 2001 up to 2006.
