In our school we have libraries in each classroom and a general-purpose
library with the intention of the pupils can discover the world through the
reading and they are curious about learning, develop their critic ability and
their autonomy.
Every year we increase the funds with the latest releases.
We edit the
news bulletin "O ratiņo das mil palabras" that includes news,makes
that the pupils think and become themselves in detectives looking for
information about the books.
During
the school year we organize exhibitions of books by subject matter , we report
about periodical publications (magazines, newspapers, comics,...) to the
pupils and we celebrate the "Day of the Book" with activities at the
common library and at the classrooms.
By means questionnaries we know the pupils' likes and preferences.
We organize reading sessions with writers and illustrators to encourage the
pupils to read.
With all these activities, we try the pupils can speak,
read and express correctly and in a creative way, and reading can be an
important matter at their leisure time.
