rebeca.jpgLast summer I had the great opportunity of spending the three first weeks of August in Canada.  Specifically in  Markham, which is  a big city near Toronto. I was staying with family together with a French girl who shared the same summer course programme.

Honestly, everything was perfect but if I had to choose something I would say that the best part of this trip was meeting new people, living with a family of another culture and of course The Niagara Falls.Perhaps , the food was the worst part . There they eat a lot at breakfast and dinner and they only have a little snack for lunch , just like a sandwich. The first few days I was hungry at all times, but I soon got used to it.The town where I was in is a really multicultural area. It  was amazing to see how a lot of cultures live and mix together and learn from each other. At first,  when  I caught the bus I  always wondered:  “where am I in Canada, Egypt, China, Japan…”. Maybe that was one of the things that surprised me most . If I could, I would repeat the experience a hundred times more. The whole trip is not only learning English ,but  how to live with people with other lifestyle. I think that trips like this one make you think how things are so different from one place to another. Because of this, I recommend this experience to everyone. I think that is something that each of us has to do at least once in a lifetime. It was unforgettable for me so if I have the chance I will repeat it without thinking.December 2013.Rebeca Montoiro 2ºA

In March 2012,my classmates and I from   2ºS, (now 3ºS) went to “Hostal de los Reyes Católicos” with Rita, the teacher of English. There, we saw very interesting places like the parts of the old hospital, the private church, some guest rooms, the basement, the place….  And a lot of more things . We liked the spiral staircase very much  because it was very long. The guide told us a lot of the stories of the Hostal, but they are too long to write here.As our behaviour was excellent, we could stay longerh we could stay longer and took photos in the Alameda Park, hung about the old town. bought sweets, and we had fun for a while, but we had return to class again., and it startedg raining!! When we got to school, we were really soaked. Finally, the excursion there was very funny, and all the class said :” We want to repeat it!!

viaxe-veran-2012-felices-os-tres-046.JPGLast summer,  I was lucky to travel to England to study English in July. I took  a plane from A Coruña to London Heathrow with a stewardess as companion. When we landed a teacher was awaiting to translate us to the school Box Hill, in Dorking city.

There were children from different countries. In my bedroom we were six girls: two Turkish, Eda and Bilur, one French, Louise, one Uucranian, Solomilla, and two Spanish, Marine and Carmen (me).

The first day was the worst, because I didn´t Know the school, I didn’t find the living room and I couldn’t have dinner. Afterwards I knew that other kids had the same problem as me.

In the morning, we had an English level exam. I was in the Highest PRE-INTERMEDIATE  course. In my classroom we were 11 children.

Each morning, after breakfast we had an assembly with some teachers, and they taught us common sentences, for example: “After you” ( después de ti ), “Eggs on your face” (flipar en colores ) etc.

We had three hour class, from nine to twelve thirty. In the afternoon, we did different activities such as : football, rounders, tennis, cooking, arts and crafts, basketball, swimming etc. Before dinner we had to do our homework between five thirty and six thirty. Later, we watched a movie. At ten we went to sleep.

On Wednesday and Saturday  we went on a trip to London. We saw: Hide Park, Hampton Court Palace, The Big Ben, The Science Museum…

On Sunday, in England, they have breakfast and lunch together, it is called “BRUNCH”. This was very surprising to me.

I enjoyed it very much. I met a lot of people. I would like to come back there next year.
