london1.jpgLast Last April we went to London, The most beautiful place we’ve ever seen in our entire lives. The first day all of us were very excited , some hadn’t flown and others couldn’t wait for that day to come. Going to London together was a dream since we have met.

On our arrival, we went to do the chek in at the hotel, which was very cosy and our room was the biggest of all! Then we headed to Westminster Cathedral, The Big Ben and the River banks. We took thousands of photos. At Picadilly we were allowed to be on our own to have dinner.

On the second day, we visited The Natural History Museum, where “Night in the museum” was filmed. It was quite interesting and we were given a questionnaire to be filled. After our lunch we rode on the London Eye. It’s a Landmark where you can see the most beautiful views from the top. We were breathtaking and it’s one of the things we liked most. Then we walked to St Paul’s Cathedral to meet Helena, who had decided to visit The Globe Theatre. At night we went back to Picadilly to have dinner and hang out.

The third day was our favourite day: We went to The National Gallery at Trafalgar Square. Then we took a cruise to Greewich and saw the gardens. We came back to Covent Garden and we had free time to do some shopping and have fun. After  buying a lot of souvenirs we went to the Lyceum Theatre to see ” The Lion King”. We enjoyed ourselves. It was unbelievable: It is a Must!

On the fourth day we visited the British Museum, where you can see ancient treasures from all over the world. Then we went walking through all the most beautiful parks : Hyde park, Green Park and St James’ Park, where we had our lunch. Then we headed to Buckingham Palace and on our way back we went to Kings Cross station to step on  Platform 9 3/4 and we browsed at Harry Potter’s shop.

On our last day we visited Sherlock Holmes’ museum and The Beatles’ shop. Before getting the tube to get the plane back we had lunch at Russel Gardens . We were sad to leave London, but we are happy to live this unforgettable experience!!

viaxe-veran-2012-felices-os-tres-046.JPGLast summer,  I was lucky to travel to England to study English in July. I took  a plane from A Coruña to London Heathrow with a stewardess as companion. When we landed a teacher was awaiting to translate us to the school Box Hill, in Dorking city.

There were children from different countries. In my bedroom we were six girls: two Turkish, Eda and Bilur, one French, Louise, one Uucranian, Solomilla, and two Spanish, Marine and Carmen (me).

The first day was the worst, because I didn´t Know the school, I didn’t find the living room and I couldn’t have dinner. Afterwards I knew that other kids had the same problem as me.

In the morning, we had an English level exam. I was in the Highest PRE-INTERMEDIATE  course. In my classroom we were 11 children.

Each morning, after breakfast we had an assembly with some teachers, and they taught us common sentences, for example: “After you” ( después de ti ), “Eggs on your face” (flipar en colores ) etc.

We had three hour class, from nine to twelve thirty. In the afternoon, we did different activities such as : football, rounders, tennis, cooking, arts and crafts, basketball, swimming etc. Before dinner we had to do our homework between five thirty and six thirty. Later, we watched a movie. At ten we went to sleep.

On Wednesday and Saturday  we went on a trip to London. We saw: Hide Park, Hampton Court Palace, The Big Ben, The Science Museum…

On Sunday, in England, they have breakfast and lunch together, it is called “BRUNCH”. This was very surprising to me.

I enjoyed it very much. I met a lot of people. I would like to come back there next year.

An amazing weekend in London

NHM

There was an unforgettable trip around London. I liked the Tube, the important places like Westminster, the Tower, Buckingham Palace, the British Museum and others but what I liked  most was the Natural History Museum . It is an amazing building and there are thousands of interesting things in it. The worst were the long, long walks inside and outside the Tube because there was work in progress and  I think that we got lost a a lot of times. Also waiting at the airport on the way back, but this is the price to be paid for an amazing place to visit. The hostel is basic and comfortable but I only recommend you not to disturb your neighbour.

PS: Beware of the food.

Last July I did one of the most important travels of my life, I travelled to Canada. I could tell you about hundreds of moments, and I wouldn’t finish. I’m going to speak a bit about my own experience.
I was in Ontario for weeks in a village called St. Catherines . I flew to Canada on 9th July and I came back to Spain on 30th . During that time, We went to school, visited amazing places and spent time with our families.
Sight-seeing was on Fridays . First, we travelled to Niagara Falls to enjoy one of the wonders of the world which they really are!!. Secondly, we visited Toronto. We were in the CN Tower and in an enormous shopping center, Eaton Center of Toronto. Finally, we went shopping and after that we saw a team of the Blue Jays. Everything was very fun and gorgeous.
On the other hand, I went to the United States with my family too. They took me on my birthday to an amusement park, Fantasy Island. This moment was very touching for me and I was very excited.
Clearly, the best thing of my trip was to meet big friends and my family. I had two little sisters, Jennasee and Teagan and my host-mother’s name is Heather. I liked the people, they are very polite with everybody. I can’t say anything bad about it, although food and time schedule was very strange for me. However, I adapted to it very soon.
I learnt a lot.I think, I speak better English now and I know much more about their culture. I learnt a little more to fend for myself.
I assure you that I will never forget this trip because it was fantastic. I encourage you to participate!

Tamén aprendín a relacionarme e a expresarme noutra lingua.
