rebeca.jpgLast summer I had the great opportunity of spending the three first weeks of August in Canada.  Specifically in  Markham, which is  a big city near Toronto. I was staying with family together with a French girl who shared the same summer course programme.

Honestly, everything was perfect but if I had to choose something I would say that the best part of this trip was meeting new people, living with a family of another culture and of course The Niagara Falls.Perhaps , the food was the worst part . There they eat a lot at breakfast and dinner and they only have a little snack for lunch , just like a sandwich. The first few days I was hungry at all times, but I soon got used to it.The town where I was in is a really multicultural area. It  was amazing to see how a lot of cultures live and mix together and learn from each other. At first,  when  I caught the bus I  always wondered:  “where am I in Canada, Egypt, China, Japan…”. Maybe that was one of the things that surprised me most . If I could, I would repeat the experience a hundred times more. The whole trip is not only learning English ,but  how to live with people with other lifestyle. I think that trips like this one make you think how things are so different from one place to another. Because of this, I recommend this experience to everyone. I think that is something that each of us has to do at least once in a lifetime. It was unforgettable for me so if I have the chance I will repeat it without thinking.December 2013.Rebeca Montoiro 2ºA
